Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies:

Here is a easy recipe how to make Marbled Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies. These are a lovely option for Valentine's Day—and very easy to make!

Ingredients:

First layer:

(4) 1-ounce squares unsweetened baking chocolate
¾ cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
(1) 1-ounce bottle red food coloring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
cooking oil spray

Second layer:

4 ounces cream cheese
¼ cup sugar
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Directions:

Prepare a 13-inch by 9-inch by 2-inch baking pan by lining the bottom and sides with aluminum foil, allowing about 2 inches to extend over the sides. Spray with cooking oil spray. Set aside. In a small pot, melt (4) 1-ounce squares unsweetened baking chocolate and ¾ cup butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool for ½ hour before continuing recipe. In a large bowl, beat 4 eggs with an electric mixer on medium speed. Add 2 cups sugar and beat well. Add (1) 1-ounce bottle red food coloring and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and beat until well combined. Add chocolate/butter mixture to egg/sugar mixture. Beat until well combined. Gently stir in ¼ teaspoon salt and 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour. Pour batter into prepared baking pan. Now, make the second layer. In a medium-sized bowl, beat 4 ounces cream cheese and ¼ cup sugar on medium speed of an electric mixer until light and airy. Add 2 egg whites and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and beat until well combined. Stir in 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, until smooth.

Drop cream cheese mixture by tablespoonfuls over batter in baking pan. Swirl cream cheese mixture into red velvet brownie batter with a knife, making a pretty design. Bake at 350 for about 25 to 30 minutes. Test with a toothpick by placing it in the deepest part of the brownies. If it comes out clean the brownies are done. Remove them from the oven immediately. Place the pan of brownies on a cooling rack for about 5 minutes, then lift out, using the aluminum foil edges and place on cooling rack to cool completely. Cut into bars or squares as desired and place on a nice serving plate. These are delicious and very pretty; they also say "Happy Valentine's Day!" to that special someone! I hope you enjoy these Marbled Red Velvet Cream Cheese Brownies
